Flutter UKI: Our mission to Do More in 2024 so far...

Nearly halfway through the year and across the Flutter UK & Ireland division, we've got a lot to be proud of so far when it comes to giving back.

As part of Flutter Entertainment, we are committed in our support of the Positive Impact Plan. The Do More promise in this plan, is our global commitment to give back to the communities where we live, work and play. Our shared goal is to improve the lives of 10 million people by the end of 2030.

Here's a quick roundup of our highlights so far...

Paddy Power's BIG 180 Campaign saw £1m donated to Prostate Cancer UK and saw over 125,000 men using their online risk checker, a five fold increase compared to last year.

Rishi Sunak, Prime Minister of the UK, applauded the campaign: “Paddy Power’s "Big 180" campaign has now chalked up an impressive £1million for Prostate Cancer UK and has helped to save lives by raising awareness of the need to get checked out. I am proud to support the campaign which will help researchers develop better treatments and tests to detect the UK’s most common male cancer earlier.”

Prostate Cancer UK Chief Executive Laura Kerby said: “With £1m raised and incredible and extensive awareness too, we’re thrilled at the success of THE BIG 180 campaign and are hugely grateful to Paddy Power, the PDC and the players for their brilliant efforts bringing it to life.

It’s all about knowing the numbers when playing darts, but not enough people are aware of the harsh statistics about prostate cancer. One in eight men will be affected by this disease, and that’s one statistic that brings home why this campaign was so important.”

The Betfair Serial Winners Fund with brand ambassador Rachael Blackmore concluded with £250,000 being raised in aid of the Irish Injured Jockeys and Injured Jockeys Fund charities.

Rachael Blackmore commented: "This really is a substantial donation, generously topped up by Betfair, and will support the vital work they carry out helping jockeys in all areas of their lives."

While Charlotte Booth, Chief Commercial Officer for Betfair, commented: "The Serial Winners Fund has been a fantastic journey for all of us - Betfair, the IJF, Irish injured jockeys and Rachael.

"It's been a real team effort from the start, and we’ve all been cheering Rachael on. Our team visited both Oaksey House in Lambourn and the RACE facility in Ireland and witnessed firsthand the work both charities do.

It’s nothing short of amazing to see the services and support they provide to jockeys and the dedication of the teams. These are such important charities for the racing community, and I am sure this initiative has raised awareness of these great causes.

Rachael has been brilliant throughout and the highlight must be her two Cheltenham winners, which added £20,000 to the pot."

We've also seen our Betfair colleagues volunteering in their local communities with ALONE and HandsOn London. Where they got stuck in to everything from planting to powerwashing and making their local areas better for people in need.

Sky Betting & Gaming have pledged £3m to the British Heart Foundation with their 'Every Minute Matters' campaign which aims to train 270k people in life saving CPR over the next 12 months.

Dr Charmaine Griffiths, Chief Executive at British Heart Foundation (BHF), said: "Millions have watched as players and fans have suffered devastating cardiac arrests in football stadiums - cardiac arrests really can happen to anyone, anywhere and at any time.

"Every Minute Matters will equip thousands of fans with lifesaving CPR skills, giving them the confidence to step in during the ultimate medical emergency. It will also improve access to defibrillators in communities across England, and fund millions of pounds of groundbreaking research into new treatments and cures for heart conditions.

"With the support of legends from the world of football who have been affected by devastating heart conditions, this ambitious partnership will undoubtedly save lives."

Sky Bet Chief Commercial Officer Steve Birch, said: "We're incredibly proud of our title sponsorship of the Sky Bet Play-Offs and it's amazing to take our involvement even further and work with the British Heart Foundation to create the 'Every Minute Matters' campaign.

"It's extraordinary to think that in just 15 minutes we can learn such a valuable skill and the real-life stories from the 'Re-Starting 11' are truly powerful. We're confident the £3m we hope to raise will make a big difference for the BHF and that we can achieve the goal of seeing 270,000 people learn lifesaving CPR through the RevivR training course."

tombola Colleagues have been getting actively involved in fundraising

Football tournament sees tombola colleagues match up for charity - Posts - tombola

Over at tombola, colleagues recently held the tombola Community Shield football match to raise £1700 for their charity partners Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) and #ANDYSMANCLUB!

Declan Taylor, Game Engineer Developer who was involved in the organisation of the event shared that they kept their arrangements local throughout! Commenting:

"It was important to us to support our local area throughout the day, so we used local suppliers where possible for both the tournament and social event including Vaux, Total Sport and the Beacon of Light. We were also lucky enough to receive donations of match tickets from Hartlepool FC and Gateshead FC to use as prizes for our raffle and help with our fundraising efforts, so big thanks goes out to any business that have supported us in making the event such a success."

Later this year, 58 colleagues are going to take on the national three peaks challenge for the same causes, so watch this space to find out how they get on.
