We are looking for a Data Protection Executive to join our UK&I Data Protection & Compliance Office, within the Strategy & Assurance team.
The successful candidate will have a strong interest and be qualified (or commitment to qualify) in data protection and privacy to obtain a strong knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy, AI, and other data regulatory frameworks. The individual will be capable of working on their own initiative and delivering results. They will have teamwork skills working with and through colleagues and peers.
The role will require working cross functionally and cross jurisdictionally. Reporting to the Senior Manager of the DP&C Strategy & Assurance unit, the Executive will assist with a range of duties across policy and procedure development, training and awareness, assurance and auditing, risk management, and reporting.
What you`ll do
- DP&C frameworks: Assist with the maintenance of DP&C frameworks, ensuring policies, standards, procedures, and guidance are aligned with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Assurance: Monitoring compliance via control frameworks, auditing and testing compliance controls, documenting and reporting on the results, and monitoring remediation plans with control owners;
- Risk management: Maintenance of the DP&C risk register; monitoring and providing guidance on DP&C risk; risk documentation, reporting and escalation; monitoring risk remediation plans.
- Subject matter authority: Commitment to becoming a subject matter expert in the areas of data protection, privacy, AI and data compliance.
- Reporting: Support on the reporting of DP&C S&A team’s activities, escalations or otherwise.
- Documentation: Organisation of DP&C’s documentation and relevant repositories.
- Projects: Supporting the management and coordination of DP&C projects and programmes.
- Support the wider DP&C Office, as and when required.
- Assist the S&A Senior Manager with other tasks, as may be required.
How you`ll do it
- Ability to demonstrate technical knowledge and competence in data protection, privacy and AI.
- Exceptional attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and complete tasks efficiently
- Qualified, or a commitment to qualify, through the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) in Data Protection Law (CIPP/e).
- Strong process, technical and analytical skills, combined with strong commercial competence
- A keen problem solver with the ability to set objectives and priorities
- Strong presentation and communication skills: the ability to accurately identify key issues and communicate them broadly
- High energy and drive, and flexible to work in an ambitious, dynamic and changing environment and the resilience to challenge/be challenged.
