Reflecting on DeliveryFest 2024

Delivery Fest 2024 Logo

The curtains have recently closed on the Flutter UK & Ireland annual DeliveryFest 2024! And we had an absolute blast! Held in Cluj on September 11th and 12th, this event brought together delivery-focused colleagues from across Flutter UKI to celebrate, learn, and connect in person.

We caught up with a few attendees to hear about their experience...

Al Shaw, Product Owner, was especially excited about the chance to meet up with colleagues face-to-face. As a remote worker, Al doesn’t get to see his teammates all that often, so being together in person was a big highlight. For Al, DeliveryFest wasn’t just another work event—it was all about “togetherness” and recharging by learning, sharing ideas, and getting inspired. He even took the plunge and spoke at the event for the first time! (Congratulations Al!) Al says he loved how the whole event was volunteer-led, saying it made everything more relatable and impactful.

Heather Lindsay, Senior Agile Delivery Lead, tells us that she was thrilled to connect with colleagues, especially those based in Cluj who she doesn’t get to see often. Heather found the event to be super valuable, giving her the chance to develop stronger relationships and walk away with loads of inspiration. She particularly loved the sessions on personal growth and navigating change. Plus, she’s excited to try out some new ideas with her teams back home.

Then there’s Rachel Allison, Data Product Owner, who couldn’t agree more about how essential DeliveryFest is. For Rachel, the event was the perfect mix of learning, networking, and a chance to hear how others are tackling shared challenges. The agenda was packed with practical tools and long-term strategies she’s already putting into action. Plus, since Rachel has a team in Cluj, it was a great excuse to meet them in person after so many Zoom calls.

As ever, DeliveryFest was a hit! Whether it was reconnecting with colleagues, getting inspired by fresh ideas, or just having fun together, everyone left feeling motivated and closer as a team.

As Heather said herself, “Where else could you get so many talented and brilliant people together to promote self-reflection, networking, learning, and having fun?”

DeliveryFest is not just a work event —it’s a celebration of our entire Flutter UKI delivery community, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year! A big thanks to Al, Heather and Rachel for giving us their insights and to all who attended.
