Media and Acquisition Manager

Role Purpose

As Media & Acquisition Manager, you will play a critical leadership role within the Media & Acquisition team, responsible for delivering best-in-class acquisition performance across all paid marketing channels.

Reporting to the Head of Media & Acquisition, you will lead a team of media specialists and work closely with our central Marketing Services function to ensure campaigns are planned, executed and optimised effectively across all acquisition channels.

You will be accountable for translating strategic objectives into actionable media plans that drive efficient customer acquisition, maximise return on investment and support the continued growth of the Sky Gaming portfolio.

This role requires a commercially-minded marketing leader who combines strong media expertise with operational excellence, stakeholder management and people leadership.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Acquisition Strategy & Delivery

  • Support the Head of Media & Acquisition in developing and executing acquisition strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Lead the day-to-day planning, execution and optimisation of media campaigns across all acquisition channels.
  • Ensure acquisition activity is delivered efficiently, effectively and within agreed budgets.
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance, drive innovation and unlock growth across channels.
  • Continuously evaluate channel effectiveness and recommend investment decisions based on performance and commercial outcomes.

Media Planning & Performance

  • Own the development of integrated media plans that balance short-term performance with long-term brand growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance and ensure optimisation opportunities are identified and actioned.
  • Lead regular performance reviews, delivering clear insights and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with analytics and commercial teams to ensure acquisition activity is accurately measured and understood.
  • Drive a test-and-learn culture across channels, creative approaches, targeting and media placements.

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a team of media professionals, including two Senior Media Executives.
  • Create a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Coach team members to enhance their strategic, commercial and technical capabilities.
  • Ensure clear prioritisation of workload and effective resource management across the team.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with the Marketing Services team to ensure campaigns are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
  • Work collaboratively with Brand, CRM, Commercial, Product, Creative and Analytics teams to align acquisition activity with wider business objectives.
  • Act as the primary operational contact between Media & Acquisition and central marketing delivery functions.
  • Ensure media requirements are clearly communicated and successfully executed across all stakeholders.

Agency & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with external media agencies, technology partners and media owners.
  • Hold partners accountable for performance, innovation and value delivery.
  • Ensure agency outputs align with business objectives and agreed KPIs.
  • Support contract, performance and commercial reviews where required.

Governance & Budget Management

  • Support management of significant acquisition budgets, ensuring investment is allocated effectively and efficiently.
  • Maintain strong financial governance and forecasting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, responsible gambling and brand requirements.
  • Implement robust planning and reporting frameworks that improve visibility and decision-making.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience in media planning, acquisition marketing or performance marketing.
  • Experience managing large-scale marketing budgets and complex acquisition programmes.
  • Strong understanding of both brand and performance media channels.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.
  • Experience managing agencies and external partners.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within gaming, betting, entertainment, ecommerce or subscription businesses.
  • Understanding of marketing attribution, measurement and econometrics.
  • Experience managing multi-channel acquisition programmes across online and offline media.
  • Familiarity with responsible gambling and regulated marketing environments.
